Deputy Director of General Transgender Groups

Position Description

the T.R.A.N.S network has over 130 Facebook groups. Group topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • 60 Groups for transgender employment. Including a group representing each state and 10 groups for the top 10 populated cities in the US.
  • 60 Groups for transgender housing. Including a group representing each state and 10 groups for the top 10 populated cities in the US.
  • A group focusing on reporting and rallying in response to violence toward transgender people around the US
  • A group focused on assisting with the suicide attempt epidemic in the national trans community
  • A group that is tailored toward relationships between the transgender community and the media
  • A group that is focused on transgender people and transgender families
  • A group that is focused on transgender people in substance abuse recovery
  • A group focused on combating national homelessness in the transgender community
  • A group for trans and cisgender people to talk about general stuff after midnight
  • One group for the admins and moderators of the Transgender Facebook Group Network

Responsibilities of Deputy Director of General Transgender Groups:

  • Identify and recruit people to help with moderating the general transgender groups
    • Group Moderator Responsibilities:
      • Quickly review people that request to join a group
      • Make sure all comments are following the group rules and topics
      • Comment or like the weekly general communications post
      • Re-post group-wide posts within a week of the post
  • Add the member count of each group to the Monthly Growth and Loss Report
  • Manage the Moderators that volunteer for the General Transgender Groups
  • Prepare material and distribute to Moderators
  • Meet either in person, through the internet or over the phone as a part of the management team once a week
  • Meet either in person, through the internet or over the phone from time to time with all group moderators for updates, training’s and reviews
